Flexible Time Off (FTO)

Taking time off from work is important for your overall well-being and productivity in both your professional and personal life. You may also find the need to take extended time away from work for health, family, or other reasons.


All active regular U.S. employees (excluding contractors and temporary employees) are eligible for FTO starting from their date of hire.

  • If eligible, you may take time off as needed, as work permits with your manager’s approval.
  • You must continue to record all time off taken, in accordance with the type of leave you’re taking (e.g., sick, vacation, jury duty, bereavement, etc.).
  • Time off is recorded in Workday.
  • Requesting more than 15 consecutive business days off (excluding disability leaves) requires approval from your Line of Business Head.

Leaves of Absences

Examples of leaves of absence that may be paid FTO under this policy include:

  • Family and Medical Leave (includes time under the FMLA and CFRA)
